Teorie di Topi Cycle

2020

Video, colour, sound, 3 channels, 5’18’’

Teorie di Topi Cycle is a documentary work about the connection between internet infrastructure and surveillance capitalism. It is formed by a three channel video in vertical format, with the screens arranged to form a triangular prism. The artwork concerns digital memory and analyzes political, economic and social effects of cloud computing and data centers.

The prismatic totem purposes different contents: rat scenes, interviews and panoramas. The interviews have been made to a UI designer, to an IT engineer that works as cloud architect, and to a criminal lawyer that defended in court the immigrants detained in the CPR of Milan, following to their protests. Panoramas include exclusive filming of the CPR of Milan and of Southern Europe’s most important data center, Supernap of Siziano, Pavia.
