Tutti i giorni (Everyday)
2018
Digital print on paper
The work is a new and alien image of the Sun: it analyzes and subverts NASA’s image production, in order to open a discourse on anthropocentrism. With its SDO – Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA studies solar magnetic field effects and provides pictures of the Sun on 9 different wavelengths. Everyday provides a unitary vision of our star – that we cannot directly look with our eyes – presenting it as an uknown planet.
Questions on anthropocentrism come also quoting the cover of the Whole Earth Catalog, a DIY collection of the best tools of the world. On the 1968 cover there was the first picture of the Earth, taken by a NASA satellite, sa saying: the Earth, too, is for sale.
